life coach for young adults

Coaching

Coaching is an essential aspect of our model. There are many factors to consider when thinking about best practice. We focus on the individual and the scaffolding needed to incorporate individual counseling, community groups, adventure/fun, community involvement, and service efforts just to cover the basics.

We all struggle with mental health concerns from time to time. These concerns can lead to and exacerbate other issues, such as a prolonged lack of motivation, relationship problems, and a fear of or avoidance of the real world. These maladaptive struggles have solutions, and our clinical team is top-notch when it comes to helping our participants discover their internal strengths, love themselves, and overcome fears.

Group or community meetings can be difficult for young adults. It’s hard to be vulnerable and express emotions and private thoughts with a group. That being said, group therapy is an effective tool that helps nurture understanding, compassion, empathy, and empowerment. In groups, we discuss such topics as trauma, anxiety, social skills, resiliency, habits, and communication.

Family is also a crucial peace of the whole. Family therapy is held weekly to help resolve issues, communicate effectively, listen, and connect. Parenting is the hardest job in the world, and even as your young adult continues on their path to individuation, your influence, boundaries, and connection are paramount to their success.

At Milestone we love adventure and play. We all have an inner child, and play is an essential part of mental health, and a great way to challenge ourselves to step outside our comfort zones. Generally, Communicating emotions can be hard. Community, coupled with recreation and adventure, meets a neurological need that fosters greater connection and mental health. In addition to purposeful groups, daily community meetings allow reviewing the day and reporting on MITs (most important tasks). These community meetings foster connections and a collaborative forum for practicing life skills continually. We believe that repetition is the mother of retention.
